About RwandAir Cargo (WB Cargo) is the freight division of RwandAir, providing both general and special cargo services to our clients throughout our network and beyond while ensuring safe and timely delivery. We strive to provide all our clients with a positive experience - on and off the ground. This means that tailor made and personally engineered freight services and facilities are proudly put at your disposal.

Document Handling

We provide one-stop-shop service to help speed up the import and export processes. WB Cargo Head Office is Located in the same building with Rwanda Revenue authority customs and MAGERWA/ Warehouse which facilitates quick service delivery.

Perishable Cargo Handling

We handle all kinds of import and export perishable shipments in a modern cold room facility situated in our Kigali hub with adjustable temperature ranges to suit all kinds of perishable shipments.

Valuable Cargo Handling

We accept and handle valuable cargo under the following conditions:

  1. The shipper made a prior agreement with WB Cargo.
  2. The dimensions of the packages are at least (50 x 30 x 20 cm) or its equivalent.
  3. Shipments must be packed in resistant wood boxes only, that are at least 2.5 cm thick, or in resistant metal boxes. Fiberboard boxes and fabric bags will not be accepted.
  4. Two 2 metal straps of 2.5 cm wide must be placed across the width of the box and one 1 or two 2 metal straps must be placed along the length of the box. At least two 2 numbered seals must be fixed at the point of intersection between the metal straps.
  5. Rigid plastic boxes can be used as an alternative.
  6. The shipper must verify with the WB Cargo's local offices the cutoff time at the airport of origin for the acceptance of valuable shipments.
  7. The shipper must offer WB Cargo a written copy of the agreement with the consignee, assuring that the consignee will take possession of the shipment immediately after the customs clearance is completed at the point of destination.
  8. Valuable cargo will not be accepted in a closed ULD built by the shipper, or as part of a mixed or consolidated shipment. Valuable cargo can only be accepted as a consolidated shipment when all the shipment is comprised of valuable cargo. WB Cargo can, at its discretion, load this type of shipment within an ULD at the departure airport.
  9. Shippers of gold, precious stones, precious metals, banknotes, pearls, or other highly valuable cargo must make a prior agreement with the WB Cargo office in order to assure that all necessary security measures are taken at both the departure and arrival airports.
  10. The packaging of all valuable cargo will be thoroughly inspected at the moment of acceptance. Any package with signs of being tampered with or with signs of damage as well as all of those packages not in compliance with the packing requirements will not be accepted for carriage. Furthermore, reconditioned packages showing patches or added portions will not be accepted for carriage.

Live Animals Carriage

We care about the well being of all live animals that are entrusted to us. Our dedicated and trained cargo handling team has all the necessary expertise to provide safe, tender and professional care at all times. Live animals shipments must meet all local government health, Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the specific guidelines of the current IATA Live Animals Regulations. Live animals are accepted only if accompanied.

Human Remains Handling

We provide a sensitive priority service for human remains and definite collection time at the time of booking. Human remains (cremated and other than cremated), carried on all international services, no restrictions, provided containers are hermetically sealed and the appropriate documents such as Doctor's certificate and valid passport or supporting documents from the embassy concerned accompany the consignment and accepted subject to advance arrangements and confirmed space booked from origin to final destination. Human remains transiting accepted with prior arrangement with RwandAir office or agent.

Dangerous Goods Handling

Our trained, certified and highly dedicated cargo handling team system wide ensures the highest safety standards at all stages of transporting your dangerous goods shipments, from acceptance to arrival at destination. All handling procedures are fully compliant with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, safety standards and local regulations.

Mail & Courier Handling

This exclusive service caters to the need of airport to airport transportation of mail, documents and packaged boxes. All courier services have the benefit of shortest acceptance time at the origin, higher loading priority and highest offloading priority at the specified destination. Cargo Handling Restrictions

Packages of extreme length, unusual shape, excessive weight Packages of extreme length, unusual shape, excessive weight and requiring special attention will not be accepted for transportation unless advance arrangements have been made.Shipments requiring special devices for safe handling will be accepted only when such special devices are provided and operated by and at the risk of the consignor or consignee.
