Corporate Planning Manager

Job Title: Corporate Planning Manager
Department: CEO’s Office
Section: Corporate Planning
Location: Kigali
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

1. Job purpose

Responsible for Initiating and coordinating all strategic and tactical operations in support of the company’s business development goals

2. Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct long term analysis of economic, political and social trends that are relevant to an airline based in Kigali
  • Conduct long term analysis on trends in the airline industry
  • Maintain a close eye on demographic trends related to target customer segments
  • Work with marketing to develop a detailed market value-based segmentation
  • Development of long term strategic plan looking at the period 5-10 years out
  • Coordinate the strategic planning process working closely with marketing, network planning and financial planning teams
  • Provide inputs to the 5 year business plan
  • Coordinate long term fleet selection criteria with network planning
  • Provide inputs to finance department business cases
  • Maintain regular competitive benchmarking on an aggregate level against other airlines in the region
  • Monitor trends in product innovation in the airline sector

3. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in business, economics, finance or marketing (specialization in market analysis would be desirable)
  • Master of Business Administration with a specialization in marketing, finance or strategic planning will be a distinct advantage
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, strategic planning and/or finance with a government or international organization or a large commercial organisation
  • Existing airline experience is highly desirable
