Position 1: Senior Manager, Revenue Management and Pricing

Department: Commercial

Section: Revenue Management and Pricing

Reporting to: General Manager Commercial

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements Revenue Management and Pricing procedures, policies and strategies in line with the company’s business plan and goals.
  • Oversees the day to day operation of both revenue management and pricing.
  • Defines strategic objectives, targets and KPIs for both the revenue management and the pricing sections.
  • Develops annual business plan and BSC for Revenue Management and Pricing.
  • Directs and monitors the revenue management team with the objective of maximizing revenue and uplift.
  • Directs and monitors the pricing team with the objective of creating fare structures and pricing points that are competitive and reflect the various market requirements.
  • Evaluates and controls both the Revenue Management Manager and Pricing Manager.
  • Oversees the day to day operation of both revenue management and pricing.
  • Ensures there is efficient communication and teamwork within the section and with the Sales teams they support.
  • Ensures budget utilization is effective.
  • Monitors the revenue management and pricing analysts and guides them to optimize and maximize revenue and uplift.
  • Designs inventory management processes.
  • Evaluates the need and spearheads the study and implementation of a revenue management forecasting and optimization system.

Education and Experience

  • Graduate in Mathematics, Business, Economics, Finance or any other quantitative leaning discipline.
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the commercial field.
  • At least 5 years’ management experience in a dynamic revenue management and pricing field.
  • Excellent skills in at least one inventory system.
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of revenue management.
  • Very good understanding of distribution systems.
  • Very good computer skills.
  • Post-graduate diploma or IATA/UFTA from a recognized IATA certified institution is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SITA Gabriel inventory system advantageous
