Important information for passengers traveling to and from Johannesburg

- Every person entering or leaving South Africa must submit a declaration, regardless of whether they have goods to declare or not. The declaration form can be found here
- Before entering or leaving South Africa, travellers must complete an online declaration on the South African Traveller Management System (SATMS) unless SATMS is unavailable or offline.
- Obligations under Section 15 also apply to crew members.
- Travellers declaring both personal goods and informal trade or commercial goods, must submit two separate declarations:
i) Personal or informal trade goods, and
ii) Commercial goods using a Goods Declaration.
5. Travellers in transit through South Africa are exempt from submitting declarations if they do not leave:
i) The designated transit area, or
ii) The mode of transport on which they arrived.
6. Travellers who qualify as diplomats or Very Important Persons (VIPs) must, as a general principle, remain subject to Customs control in terms of Section 15 of the Customs and Excise Act.
7. Non-resident travellers carrying Krugerrand coins into South Africa must declare such coins as part of their declaration.
8. Failure to declare goods, understate values, or submit false documents may result in seizure, prosecution, or penalties.

Important information for passengers traveling to Heathrow Airport.

Due to a planned strike by UK Border Force officials from May 31st to June 2nd, 2024, we advise all passengers arriving at Heathrow Airport in London to anticipate long delays at immigration and possibly when disembarking from aircraft. Suspension of Mumbai flights

DUBAI BOUND PASSENGERS TRANSITING THROUGH OR FROM KIGALI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Following the new UAE Covid-19 test requirements for passengers out of restricted countries, all passengers transiting or starting their journey at Kigali International airport from Accra, Bangui, Bujumbura, Mumbai, Brussels, Cotonou, Douala, Doha, Dubai, Entebbe, Kamembe, Kigali, Libreville, London, and Lusaka to Dubai will adhere to the following procedures: Present a valid negative Covid-19 test certificate that is issued within the valid time frame, namely, (48) hours from the time of collecting the sample and from an approved health service, which uses a QR code system. All transiting passengers will be required to arrive one day before their departure to Dubai. They will be required to get accommodation in Kigali to wait for the following day flight at their own cost Payment for two PCR Covid -19 tests before departure from point of origin to cater for test on arrival in Kigali and a second test the following day six hours (6hrs) to their flight. The two Covid-19 tests will cost $120. Direct passengers (those who will start their journey from Kigali) will be required to take an additional Rapid PCR test performed six hours (6hrs) before departure at the airport.
