Best time to visit Denizli
Denizli has a hot Mediterranean climate with dry summers and mild, wetter winters. Spring, from April to June, and autumn, in September and October, are the best times to visit, with pleasant temperatures for walking around Hierapolis and Laodicea, where shade is limited.
July and August are very hot, so visit Pamukkale early in the morning or towards sunset, when the terraces are at their most beautiful. Winter is cooler and quieter, and the thermal waters are especially enjoyable on crisp days, though some days can be rainy.
Getting from the airport
Denizli Çardak Airport lies about 60 km north-east of Denizli, and the drive to the city usually takes around 45 minutes to an hour. Pamukkale is a similar distance, to the north of the city.
Shuttle buses usually connect with flights and run to Denizli, and taxis are available outside the terminal. Many hotels in Pamukkale and Denizli arrange transfers on request.
