Prof. Dr. Vincent Correia is a Co-Director and full professor of the Institute of Air and Space Law. He earned his Doctoral and Master of Laws Degrees at Bordeaux University, a French law Degree at Bordeaux University and a Bachelors Degree in law from the Bordeaux University and Universidad de Salamanca. He has in the past held positions at the Université de Poitiers, Université Paris-Saclay, Leiden University and the Co-director of the Institute of Space and Telecommunications.
He has been co-editor of the Revue Française de Droit Aérien et Spatial and is member of the boards of editors of the Aviation and Space Journal and the Air & Space Law journals. He is member of the board of the Société Française de Droit Aérien et Spatial, McGill Annals of Air and Space and member of the International Law Association and the Association Française d'Études Européennes.
Prof. Andrea Harrington is a Co-Director and Associate Professor of the Institute of Air and Space Law. She earned her Doctoral and Master of Laws Degrees from McGill Institute of Air and Space Law, a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law, a Master of Sciences in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and History from Boston University.
She has held positions at Colorado School of Mines, University of Mississippi, the Air Command and Staff College and has served as Dean of Space Education at Air University for the United States Space Force. She is a member of the editorial board for the McGill Annals of Air and Space Law, New Space, and the American Bar Association Publication–The Air and Space Lawyer.
Prof. Dr. Donal Patrick Hanley, FRAeS is the Associate Director and Associate Professor of the McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law. He earned his Doctoral and Master of Laws Degrees in Air and Space Law from Leiden University, a Master of Arts from Dublin University, a Master of Arts in Linguistics from Monash University, a Master of Business Administration in International Aviation from Concordia University, and a Diploma in Air Law from the International Air Transport Association.
He has served as Chair of the International Law Section of the State Bar of California, the Vice President, Legal and Managing Director of the Irish subsidiaries of Aviation Capital Group and founded CIAF Leasing based in Cairo, Egypt. He has extensively worked on the Cape Town Convention with the Aviation Working Group and is an instructor in the IATA Training and Development Institute. He is a solicitor admitted in Ireland and in England and Wales, an attorney at law admitted in California and a foreign legal affairs attorney licensed to practice law in Taiwan. He is Ambassador Designate of the Sovereign Military Order to the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
Stefan -Michael Wedenig is the Executive Director of the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law where he also pursues graduate studies in the form of a Doctorate. He earned a Master of Laws in Air & Space Law from McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law and a Masters in Law at the Johannes Kepler University. Before joining McGill he worked and in the diplomatic field at the Austrian Embassy in Canada. He was previously involved in the McGill Manual on International Law Applicable to Military Uses of Outer Space and was the Assistant Editor Annals of Air and Space Law. His current research focus on new approaches Artificial Intelligence in the air and space domains.
Arnold Agaba is a Doctoral Candidate at McGill University's Institute of Air and Space Law where he Chairs the Institute’s Research Group on Air and Space Law in Africa and also serves as the Assistant Editor for the Annals of Air and Space Law. He earned a Master of Laws from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Laws in Air and Space Law from McGill University Institute of Air and Space Law, a Bachelor of Laws from Uganda Christian University, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre Uganda.
He is consulted by institutions in the aviation and space field, has served as a teaching Fellow for space law at McGill University and has taught international law at several universities in Uganda. He is a member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society where he chairs the East African Law Society Air and Space Law Committee. His research concerns governance approaches in aviation and space domains by African states. He coordinated the workshop along with his RwandAir counter parts.
Jack Wright Nelson is a Doctoral Candidate at McGill University where he serves as the Editor of the Annals of Air and Space Law. He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Laws in Air and Space Law from McGill Institute of Air and Space Law. Prior to entering academia, Mr. Nelson practiced law with King & Wood Mallesons in Hong Kong and in Singapore.
He is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Victoria, the High Court of Australia, and the High Court of Hong Kong. Mr Nelson’s research focuses on areas of domestic and international air and space law, the intersections between law, science and technology, and the abuse of rights doctrine.While not present in Kigali, Mr. Nelson has been instrumental in preparing instruction materials delivered by his colleagues.
