How To Apply?

Step 1: Verification

Upon receiving a request from WB Outstation or Agent, the Call Centre will verify passenger eligibility for STPC services.

Step 2: Hotel Booking

If passenger qualifies, the Call Centre will book accommodation from the STPC hotel list according to the following priority order:

Economy Class Passengers:

  • Lemigo Hotel
  • Grand Legacy Hotel
  • M Apartment & Hotel
  • Great Seasons Hotel
  • Scheba Hotel
  • Homefree Hotel
  • T 2000 Hotel

Business Class Passengers:

Park Inn Hotel

Step 3: Confirmation and Updates

Once hotel confirmation is received, the Call Centre will:

Update the relevant PNR

Send email notification to:

  • Relevant WB Outstation
  • Agent
  • Revenue Accounts
  • KIA Ground Service Team

Terms & Conditions of the discount

Customers with extended connecting times in Kigali International Airport (KGL) are eligible to make use of the stopover under the following terms and conditions:

  • Stopover in Kigali is only available exclusively for passengers connecting from Kigali Airport (KGL) on RwandAir return tickets (ticket numbers starting with 459) with both departure and return flights must be via Kigali.
  • The stopover offer does not apply to domestic tickets with international connections, e.g. KME-KGL-BRU.
  • Transit Duration: Minimum 6 hours (For Economy class passengers) and 4 hours (For Business class passengers) without onward connecting flight to final destination.
  • The stopover service provides a maximum of 1-night accommodation to economy class passengers and 1-night accommodation to business class passengers. Transport from the airport to the hotel and back to the airport will be provided and organized with the contracted hotel.
  • The hotel voucher does not include any alcoholic beverages or laundry services; passengers will bare all the costs if they decide to consume these products as services.
  • The hotel options provided are subject to the availability of RwandAir contracted hotels.
  • Visa fees, travel costs around the city, and any additional tours will be borne by the passenger. Any additional costs will be the passenger’s responsibility. Note: Citizens of countries members to the following international organizations; African Union, Commonwealth and La Francophonie get visa upon arrival and are waived visa fees for a visit of 30 days.
  • Stopover offer is not available for free tickets (R and Z classes).
  • Economy class eligibility: - available for Economy (round trip) fare from USD 800 net and one-way fare from USD 450 net.
  • Business class eligibility: - available for Business (round trip) fare from USD 1,500 net and one-way fare from USD 750 net.
  • RwandAir Dreammiles award (Miles) ticket are eligible for stopover.
  • Please note that the hotel voucher and boarding pass must be presented to the hotel upon check-in.
  • The hotel voucher cannot be changed after it has been issued by the system.
  • It is the responsibility of passengers to fulfill the entry requirements and requirements to Rwanda. Passengers are responsible for all visa/passport and regulatory obligations.
  • RwandAir is not responsible for any changes, errors or inaccuracies in the information provided.
  • RwandAir reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of Stopover in Kigali.

What Does it Offer?

RwandAir offers the stopover fare that can be included in the fare for $100 per person per night, this includes the following:

  • Hotel accommodation is on single occupancy, with bed and breakfast basis only
  • Hotel transfers to and from the airport
  • 24-hour check-in and check-out
    • The following is not included and passenger will have to do their own arrangements:
  • Arrival visa & applicable fees if any
  • Tour and excursions
  • Additional meals outside of the breakfast offered at the hotel

01. Do Stopover Packages include airport transfers, meals or other benefits?

Stopover Packages are on room only basis. Optional breakfast, transfers and tours are available on purchase.

02. Can customers book a Qatar Stopover without a visa?

NO, a valid visa is required to enter the country. Entry into Qatar will be at the discretion of the immigration authorities.

Only Rwandan, Seychelles and South African nationals are entitled for Visa on Arrival in Qatar, while other African Nationals can apply for visa though https://hayya.qa/ subject to Holding US, Schengen, Canadian, Australian & New Zealand visit/residency visas and meeting the required guidelines.

03. What other services are offered to customers during the stay?

Customers can enjoy a range of thrilling desert experiences in addition to exciting tours around the city available for booking with Discover Qatar.

04. What are the check-in procedures at the hotel?

Customers have to show their booking voucher and boarding pass at the time of check-in. If the customer has lost their boarding pass, they must provide their RwandAir e-ticket number to the hotel for validation.

05. What time is check-in and check-out for Stopover hotels?

The Qatar Stopover allows customers to check-in any time of the day according to their flight itinerary and check-out any time within 24 hours maximum for 1-night stay offer and within 96 hours for maximum of 4 nights stay.
