Kigali, 24 September 2022:  RwandAir won the award for ‘Best Airline Staff in Africa’ at Skytrax’s 2022 World Airline Awards.

The Rwandan flag carrier has taken home the prestigious title for a second successive year in recognition of its excellent customer service.

RwandAir was ranked first out of ten other African airlines all contending for the top spot.

The carrier’s staff – both on the ground and in the air – were praised by airline customers for their excellent service.

The African carrier also won the award for ‘Best Cabin Crew in Africa’ and ‘Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in Africa’, completing the trio.

The World Airline Awards began in 1999 when Skytrax launched its first global, annual airline customer satisfaction survey. They are referred to as the Oscars of the aviation industry.

Following the new UAE Covid-19 test requirements for passengers out of red list countries, all passengers transiting or starting their journey at Kigali International airport from Douala, Lagos, Accra, Libreville, Cotonou, Abuja, and Rwanda to Dubai will adhere to the following procedures:

1. Present a valid negative Covid-19 test certificate that is issued within the valid time frame, namely, (48) hours from the time of collecting the sample and from an approved health service, which uses a QR code system.
2. All transiting passengers will be required to arrive one day before their departure to Dubai.
   • They will be required to get accommodation in Kigali to wait for the following day flight at their own cost
   • Payment for two PCR Covid -19 tests before departure from point of origin to cater for test on arrival in Kigali and a second test the following day six hours (6hrs) to their flight. The two Covid-19 tests will cost $120.
3. Direct passengers (those who will start their journey from Kigali) will be required to take an additional Rapid PCR test performed six hours (6hrs) before departure at the airport.
4. If travelers test positive for Covid-19 while in Rwanda, they will be treated as indicated in National Covid-19 management guidelines until they have fully recovered at their own cost.

The agreement between both national carriers offers global travellers greater choice, comfort, and connectivity provided at HIA – the World’s Best Airport.

Connecting more of Africa to the world, this newest addition allows passengers from Qatar’s airport to seamlessly travel to more than 25 destinations across Africa, Europe, and Asia.
